Hey guys 🙂
So, until this Friday I have a HTC One X. A slim, white smart phone. I have to review it, and I thought it would be the perfect first review for “Tech Toys”.
The set up was really simple, offering to set up my Google, drop box and other things. I quickly had it set up and was looking around. I like the front screen with the simple “pull the ring up to unlock” then it has a clock (always good). Swipe across to find, something called friend stream, which as far as I can see has twitter, face-book and other social networks on it. next along the screens is an agenda. Then something I think that does messaging… Then people, and it uploaded all my google contacts. Then back to the main screen, I liked how it goes round in circles rather than stopping when you get to the last screen.
I like the apps it came with, radio, drop box, google, g+, maps, twitter etc, and it came with teeter, a very cool game (I was bored OK?) YouTube worked really well once google was working in general. And I liked the speech recognition. The sound is good too.
I tested the voice recorder with my guitar and my singing, and it coped really well, better than my phone ever did.
I like the messaging, but not the keyboard so much, maybe that’s just me though as it seems quite responsive.
Also, I like the camera, a lot, I love taking pictures, and so I really enjoyed using this one, I have some nice new contact photos 🙂
The battery life is not good, to be expected of a phone this size. It’s almost the biggest I ever seen, making a close second, and so it doesn’t last very long at all, especially if you use YouTube.
One more thing, I don’t like the white, this phone is a nice clean white, but I don’t like white phone, full stop, I just don’t like them. And this one has a black rim around the screen, wich just looks so wrong, if you’re gonna have a white phone, have a white phone, not white with a big black bit, it just looks wrong.
Overall, I loved it. I just liked it, it was nice to use. Bad battery. One day, they’re gonna focus on bettery’s not phoens, can’t wait, cause this could do with one. But yeah, I loved it 🙂 I would recommend it, but only if you have a place to charge it, so not for school cause it will run flat…unless you turn it off, or charge until the last minute, and don’t use too much, it should be ok, it lasted me most of today… It should last for the whole of school. So yeah, only if you can be careful, and bothered to charge it a lot.
